The office of the Chief Registrar is in charge of administrating the courts, personnel of the courts, and procuring the courts’ budget as it is considered the administrative arm of the Malaysia Judiciary.

Maven International provided 800 hours of court interpretation per month into 30 languages and dialects for Chief Registrar’s Office Federal Court of Malaysia.

Challenges:

Court interpretation to and from over 40 languages, which include dialects as rare as Twi, Ewe, Afrikaans and many others.
The service is mostly requested on a very short notice in courts across all Malaysian states that required strong logistics coordination.
Up to 800 hours of interpretation monthly.
High requirements towards interpreters

Solutions:

We have designed well-functioning internal mechanisms to provide seamless and hassle-free allocation of the interpreters to all assignments.
Due to our extensive database of trained and experienced court interpreters and effective protocol to find, screen and train new candidates, a shortage of interpreters was hardly ever an occurrence.

Results:

Maven International has been an official court interpretation provider to the Chief Registrar since 2014.
Overall failure rate has been minimized to below 1%.
