Job Requirements

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the generation of new leads, closing of new business and up-selling within the current client accounts, while often working on her/his own initiative, reporting to director. It’s imperative that this employee has an understanding of what solutions clients normally look for, main challenges in the industry and in-depth knowledge of our products and solutions. Translation itself is simple however now we’re providing solutions that are somewhat technical in nature (software and translation going hand in hand): this might have to be elaborated by someone who is tech savvy or has past IT experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying suitable buyers and generating new leads via professional platforms, research and trade shows
  • Identifying and building excellent relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in client organizations
  • Meeting potential customers and presenting Maven solutions via one-on-one, group, online and in-person meetings
  • Educating and demonstrating prospective and existing clients our solutions, capabilities, benefits, value and competitive advantage
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Maintaining an up to date record of activity on the database, setting followup calls, meetings, conference calls and demos to drive the sales process and achieve sales targets
  • Explaining our process and justifying our rates
  • Up-selling additional services to existing clients
  • Preparing proposals and tender responses
  • Creating marketing campaigns (e-mail shots, physical mail shots, social network marketing etc.)

Who are we looking for?

Requirements:

Academic and experience background requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (majoring in Marketing), Mass communications, IT or equivalent Sales rep, sales assistant, or account executive experience at least 1 year
  • Professional spoken and written English and Malay (Mandarin is added advantage)
  • Upper Intermediate (B2) spoken and written English
  • Experience in IT field in any capacity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent computer and internet literacy
  • Has experience or able to learn to work with sales force or other related CRM
  • Must be available to travel for work related commitments

 

Preferred:

    • Advanced (C1) spoken and written English
    • 2+ years working as sales rep, business development manager in technology related, professional services provider (or any high tech environment) or language service provider
    • Proven experience of working in a B2B sales environment
    • Proven experience in selling and promotion of IT solutions.
    • Proven cold calling experience
  • Consultative selling experience
  • Meeting and presentation experience
  • Proven track record of success at managing large accounts/projects
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets
  • Experience in mass mailing and online marketing
