Background

At Maven we provide turnkey specialized languge solutions with specific focus on NGOs, NPOs, UN & Government.

The word Mmaven means a trusted expert — someone who understands the subject deeply and is relied on for insight.

It all started with Maven International back in 2013, a name many of our long-time clients still know us by.

Our work has taken us across industries, borders, and document types — supporting:

Most of our clients were international institutions working across borders. UN agencies, NGOs, international federations. For nearly a decade, we delivered language solutions in more than 20 countries across 4 continents for clients headquartered in 15 different countries. All while running from our Malaysian office. We managed projects in international hubs like Washington DC, Berlin, and Singapore.

We realized the need and the potential to be present in other countries and become a true international language service provider.

We opened offices in key markets:

UAE, 2023 — to serve the Middle East and Gulf region
Ireland, 2025 — to serve the EU and wider Europe
USA, 2025 — to serve the USA and Canada

At the same we have centralized project management and quality control to ensure consistency across all our offices.

Language services for governments, the UN system, and sensitive operations require security & confidentiality standards that match the stakes.

Our confidentiality framework includes:

• Data encryption and secure file transfer—no cloud sharing without explicit client approval. Clients choose their own systems (Smartcat, XTRF, memoQ) or we work through secure channels they specify.
• Translator vetting and NDAs—every translator on sensitive projects signs confidentiality agreements and undergoes background verification.
• No subcontracting without approval—work stays within our vetted network. We don't farm projects to external agencies without explicit client consent.
• Audit trails and version control—institutional clients can verify who accessed what, when, and in what format.
• Compliance with and certification to relevant international standards—ISO 17100 (translation services), ISO 27001 (information security), GDPR (EU data protection), and sector-specific regulations (medical, legal, government).
