1. Purpose and Approach

This policy sets out our practical commitments to lower-impact service delivery and defines the environmental standards we apply to our staff, contractors, linguists, and delivery partners.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all Maven International internal staff, project managers, freelance linguists, technical suppliers, and any third party engaged in the delivery of interpretation, translation, localization, or related services on our behalf.

3. Operating Model

Maven International operates a digital-first, distributed working model. Project coordination, document exchange, client communication, vendor management, and quality review workflows are conducted entirely through secure digital platforms.

  • Impact: This structure drastically reduces the environmental footprint associated with routine daily commuting and fixed-office energy consumption, while seamlessly supporting continuity across global time zones.
  • (Further details are available in Section 3.1 of our Sustainability Statement.)

4. Practical Commitments

To ensure lower-impact service delivery, we enforce the following operational protocols:

  • Remote Interpretation First: Wherever operationally suitable, we prioritize Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI), remote consecutive interpretation, and hybrid event delivery. This directly minimizes interpreter travel, hotel accommodation, and venue logistics (Sustainability Statement, Section 3.2).
  • Regional Sourcing: Where an on-site presence is genuinely required by the client, we prioritize local and regional talent, combine assignments where practical, and strictly limit unnecessary transit (Section 3.4).
  • Paperless Workflows: We maintain strictly digital project workflows. Files are managed and transferred electronically; routine printing is prohibited in standard operations (Section 3.5).
  • Supply Chain Alignment: We expect our suppliers and freelance linguists to apply equivalent eco-friendly standards when executing work on behalf of Maven International.

5. Responsibilities

  • Project Managers: Responsible for assessing assignments and selecting the lowest-impact delivery format (such as RSI over on-site) that meets client requirements.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management: Responsible for communicating these environmental expectations to suppliers and onboarding eco-conscious partners.

6. Governance and Review

This policy is owned by Maven International's Director. It is reviewed every two years, or earlier if material changes to our operating model or client compliance requirements occur.

7. Reporting and Compliance

Concerns, questions, or suggestions regarding this policy can be raised through our standard corporate contact channels. For institutional buyers and procurement teams, additional verification documentation and due-diligence responses are available upon request.
