Our direct experience in this sector includes work with Interpol and the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI). Our cooperation with AFI has been ongoing since 2016, covering both interpretation and translation across a wide range of projects. What is the advantage of working with a single provider across multiple countries?

IGOs can work with local providers directly — and many do. The advantage of working with Maven is consistency. The local professionals still do the work — we just make sure the right ones are in place and that the project runs smoothly across all locations.

Do you bring interpreters from overseas or engage local providers?

We prioritize locally based interpreters whenever they are available. For most languages and locations, this is possible. Where local interpreters are not available — either because of the location or the language required, we look at nearby cities or countries first. Bringing interpreters from distant regions is a last resort, and we only do it when there is no suitable option closer, or when a client has a preference for a specific team they have worked with before.
How do you manage projects in locations where you have no office?

Through a wide network of local coordinators and vetted language professionals built over years of international work. We manage the project centrally while sourcing interpreters, translators, and equipment locally. This keeps costs at local market rates while maintaining consistent standards across the project.
How much of the project spend goes to local providers?

The larger share — typically 80 to 95 percent is paid to locally based linguists, equipment suppliers, and coordinators. We handle project management, vetting, and coordination.
Where do you own interpretation equipment?

We own equipment in some of the locations where we have offices. When projects overlap or run simultaneously, we work with trusted partners to cover the additional equipment needs — this is standard practice. In locations where we have no office, we source equipment from local partner organizations. The cost to our clients reflects local market rates.
